Dates: January 1st through December 31st
Host: Becky

The Challenge (put simply): Read two books by J.R.R. Tolkien and two books by C.S. Lewis.
Reasons for joining:
1. I'm tired of being put to shame by my 10-year-old daughter. Annie has read The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and The Silmarillion by Tolkien, as well as the all the Narnia books. I have read none of these.
2. These books are so cherished by so many that I would be a fool not to get them read eventually, right?
My list (though finishing all of these is probably wishful thinking on my part):
*The Fellowship of the Ring
*The Two Towers
*The Return of the King
*The Magician's Nephew
*The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
*The Horse and His Boy
*Prince Caspian
*The Voyage of the 'Dawn Treader'
*The Silver Chair
*The Last Battle
Wow...this may be a "mini-challenge" to most, but for me it qualifies as the full-fledged deal!

Look at you, a Tolkein and Lewis challenge, good for you! I've read the LOTR trilogy, but never made it back to the Hobbit or some of the others. I'm so into current fiction these days that I can't seem to get motivated on any kind of classics. Good for you for challenging yourself to read these!
I haven't read any of these, I may have to give this challenge a try. I think I started a few of them, but I don't believe I have any finished any of them.
