Spring Reading Thing 2009

Dates: March 20th through June 20th of 2009

Host: Katrina

For details: Click here.

The challenge (put simply): Make a list of things to read this spring...and read them.

Notes:
*The Spring Reading Thing in 2007 was the very first reading challenge I ever joined. :) Just look where it's led.
*I love that we can add other reading goals, along with or instead of, a list of books. Very cool idea!

My list:

Books:
*Fax From Sarajevo by Joe Kubert
*The Dead and the Gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer
*Shakespeare Wrote for Money by Nick Hornby
*Nation by Terry Pratchett
*The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
*The Garden of Eve by K.L. Going
*...I never saw another butterfly...: Children's Drawings and Poems from Terezin Concentration Camp, 1942-1944
*Step on a Crack by James Patterson

Books to read to boys:
*Looking for Bobowicz by Daniel Pinkwater
*The Hoboken Chicken Emergency by Daniel Pinkwater
*Samuel Blink and the Forbidden Forest by Matt Haig

Misc.:
*read 5 scrapbooking ideas books and/or magazines from stack
*read and recycle 10 other magazines from stack

I forgot about Step on a Crack! Plus I need to go add a magazine challenge to mine!

Great post!

Oh, we love Daniel Pinkwater here too. I love to hear what people are reading with their kids.

I had never heard of Fax from Sarajevo but I am deeply curious about a memoir in graphic novel form... I'd love to hear how you like it.

Quirkology looks like my kind of book. I'll have to add that to my want-to-read list. And my 10-year-old has enjoyed Daniel Pinkwater as well. Thanks for being part of Spring Reading Thing '09!

Oh here's your list! Magazines! My magazines are out of control. If I'd have thought to add that I might do better with trying to go through them and then getting rid of some...they pile up on me way too fast.

oo love the other goals that you can add on with this challenge. So fun to see what everyone's goals are along with the books on their list.
